The objective of this activity is to promote positive attitudes for the upcoming 2017 inauguration (regardless of personal political views), as well as an increased understanding of the Inauguration process and the day's events. 

Students are instructed to write a letter to the President Elect (Donald Trump) and tell him of any goals that they would like to see achieved in the new administration. The students are also encouraged to write well wishes to the new President and his family. 

The students also learn about the events that occur on Inauguration Day.

This activity was created with grades 6 - 8 in mind, but it can be adjusted for upper elementary or high school.
